Procure® for Corn Captures Sun\’s Energy to Maximize Plant & Soil Health

February 26, 2020 | News

Sunshine fuels corn’s ability to grow strong and perform. Putting the sun to work for farmers, Agnition developed Procure® for Corn to enhance the crop’s ability to capture energy from the sun, maximizing yields through increased plant and soil health.

“Photosynthesis is a natural process essential to corn’s ability to produce the energy necessary to absorb water, nutrients and carbon dioxide,” explains Agnition Microbiologist Rachel Raths.

A plant’s ability to capture the sun’s energy through photosynthesis depends on its access to trace minerals. Trace minerals are necessary for plant enzymes to conduct photosynthesis. Procure for Corn makes photosynthesis more efficient by delivering nutrients directly to the plant utilizing patented Microbial Catalyst® technology.

“Procure takes a biological system already in place and helps make that system work more efficiently for the plant,” Raths says.

“Procure’s Microbial Catalyst technology delivers a unique,100% available form of nutrients directly to the plant, making photosynthesis more efficient by unlocking enzymes required for photosynthesis,” Raths explains.

This same technology improves soil health by increasing population, diversity and activity of soil microbes. “Ultimately, healthy soil microbes increase the availability of all nutrients to the plant. Procure is a holistic approach to increasing plant health and maximizing yields,” Raths says.

Even though 2019 growing conditions were less than favorable, yield bumps were seen in 88% of corn acres treated with Procure. Treated corn was healthier and taller, with larger stalk diameter and increased root mass.

Applied in-furrow or through foliar application later in the season, Procure for Corn is now available. See the 2019 field trial results and learn more about how Procure for Corn helps plants capture the sun’s energy at Agnition.com or contact your local Agnition dealer.
