Strong Animals Collaborates with Hoover’s Hatchery and NatureServe Feeds

January 13, 2021 | News

Strong Animals® announced today their collaboration with Hoover’s Hatchery™ and NatureServe® feeds to encourage everyone raising chickens at home to use the same essential oils and natural approaches employed by Hoover’s Hatchery.

For decades, Strong Animals has used essential oils and other plant-based products to naturally promote the overall health of animals. Strong Animals knows that backyard flock owners desire to use essential oils with their flock as a natural way to keep their birds healthy and free from disease, but they do not know how to do so safely and effectively.

Through years of research and product development by seasoned poultry nutritionists and veterinarians, Strong Animals has removed the guesswork by developing a line of essential oil-based products that can safely be used to keep your flock healthy and thriving. Their products include water additives, daily snacks and coop refreshers featuring oregano, thyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, eucalyptus, bergamot, basil, rosemary, and ginger essential oils.

Since 1944 Hoover’s Hatchery has raised their flocks on small family farms and is widely recognized for raising the highest quality poultry under the strictest methods of care. This dedication to health and vitality has led them to utilize essential oil products from Strong Animals. “At Hoover’s, we want to encourage everyone to use the same essential oils and natural approach for raising small flocks at home,” said Tony Halsted, Director of Business Development at Hoover’s Hatchery.

Strong Animals has pioneered the use of essential oils that go into animal feed and supplements and has grown to be the market leader. Their products promote digestive health and immunity as well as providing a comfortable living environment for birds. “Since we started using Strong Animals products with our breeder stock, the health of our flocks and performance of our hatchery has improved,” said Halsted.

NatureServe is leading the charge in flock nutrition by also using Strong Animals essential oils in their line of feeds. NatureServe’s flock feed line includes starter, grower and pelleted feed for chickens, ducks, turkeys, and gamebirds. “The addition of essential oils and probiotics in our line of feeds helps provide additional health benefits to your flock,” said Nick DeKryger, Vice President of Belstra Milling Company. NatureServe believes in first serving animals, so that they can provide the best for you and your family.

“Strong Animals is proud to be partnering with Hoover’s Hatchery and NatureServe,” said Glenn Bader, Vice President of Marketing at Ralco. “We believe that all animals can benefit from being raised using a natural approach with essential oils.”

Strong Animals essential oil products can be found at local farm stores or online at getstronganimals.com. To learn more about Hoover’s Hatchery and NatureServe Feeds, visit HooversHatchery.com and NatureServeFeed.com.

About Hoover’s Hatchery

Hoover’s Hatchery was hatched in the summer of 1944 when Bob and Helen Hoover decided to take over the small existing hatchery in the small town of Rudd, Iowa. Bob and Helen hatched and sold baby chicks until their retirement in the early 70s. At that point, Doug and Mary Halsted, long time employees of the hatchery, took over the hatchery and owned and operated it for 47 years. Today, Hoover’s is owned by a group of families who believe in the very same principles that the Hoovers and the Halsteds built the hatchery on. The hatchery looks much different than what it did in 1944 when the Hoovers only hatched White Leghorns. We now hatch and sell over 100 breeds, and we could not be prouder to do that in Rudd, Iowa! Hoover’s flocks are hand-raised on small family farms using Strong Animals essential oils for health and vitality. We recommend continuing that tradition by taking a natural approach to raising your flock with Strong Animals Chicken Essentials products and NatureServe Feeds.

About NatureServe

NatureServe feeds are essential oil feeds and available in starter/growers and pellets for chickens, ducks, turkeys and gamebirds that are manufactured by Belstra Milling Company, a family and employee-owned company tucked into the heart of the Midwest in DeMotte, Indiana. Grounded in faith and family, Belstra produces high quality, complete nutritional feeds and custom premixes. Belstra Milling Company’s world-class feeds were built on reputation; but the company was established on service and relationships with local farmers and people whose passion is taking care of animals. Alongside NatureServe Feeds, Belstra also manufactures Belstra Action Feeds, Heinold Feeds and various custom specialty products. For a complete list of NatureServe feeds, visit NatureServeFeed.com.
